Position Profile:

The Faculty of Engineering and Information Sciences is seeking applications from experienced academics in the area of Computer Engineering.

The position of Assistant/Associate – Computer Engineering exists to provide academic quality within the University by maintaining high standards of excellence in teaching, research and administration and in the undertaking of professional/community service activities relevant to the profession or discipline.

Candidates should have a PhD in Computer Engineering or Electronic Engineering from a recognised university. They should also have experience in teaching at undergraduate and Master’s level. Industry experience or involvement in executive education would also be beneficial.


To qualify for the above role, candidate must have the following qualifications:

  • PhD. Degree in the discipline (or related discipline) from a recognised international institute
  • Teaching experience at an internationally recognized institution
  • Experience in supervising doctoral candidates (helpful)
  • An active researcher in the field (or related field) with publications in recognised international journals
  • Fluency in English language (both spoken and written)

The candidate is expected to take the lead in teaching and managing engineering subjects in the  following areas (but not limited to):

  • Computer architecture, engineering design electronics, and microprocessor theory and design
  • Microcontrollers and Embedded Systems
  • Reconfigurable Computing and VLSI
  • Real-time systems
  • Digital Hardware
