UOWD College is seeking applications to recruit for the position of Casual English Language Teacher.

Teaching English as an Additional Language is a primary function of UOWD College. The role of the classroom teacher is central to the quality of the program and the experience of students learning English as a second/foreign language. Our well-qualified and experienced teachers adopt a student-centred, communicative and digitally-enhanced approach to language learning.  UOWD College Language Centre has a number of casual positions available throughout the year to cover the flexible class times offered to our students.  A casual position requires teaching from 3 to 20 hours per week.

• Native speaker
• English language teaching qualification such as CELTA or DELTA
• Masters desirable
• At least 2 years’ experience
• Familiarity with technology-enhanced methodologies (blended/flipped learning)
• Familiarity with educational technology

• UAE Residency Visa with No Objection Certificate from the visa sponsor.
• Minimum 3 years’ relevant teaching experience in the field of adult EAL/ESL/EFL is essential for the position of ELT.
• Have the ability to remain open to new theories and methods in EAL/ESL/EFL instruction,
• Be flexible in responding to students' needs,
• Have a pedagogical rather than a punitive approach to students' errors
• Able to teach a full range of levels and English courses.

• Availability to teach across the whole teaching period - morning, afternoon, evening

• A relevant Master’s degree.
• Evidence of other EAL/ESL/EFL teaching experience in other fields, such as industry or mainstream education.
• IELTS and OET teaching and/or examining experience
